Ontario Visited’s Community Spotlight ~ Community of Palmerston

This month’s Ontario Community Spotlight, presented by Ontario Visited, is the Community of Palmerston.

Palmerston is a unique community located in the Town of Minto.

We discovered Palmerston on our tour of the area. It was in the winter and there two things that attracted our attention ~ a huge snow pile in the local grocery stores parking lot and beside the parking lot, a huge locomotive!

It was cold out on the day of our first visit, so we didn’t explore too much, but vowed we’d come back in the warmer months.

We did and we were amazed at the beautiful park that was the home of huge locomotive. As it turns out, Palmerston was the key division point for the Canadian National Railway (CNR) and a museum honouring Palmerston’s railway and CNR heritage.

Please enjoy our Palmerston video, while you and your family are “self isolating” and then, when it’s okay to resume your “adventures”, go out and explore all that Palmerston and the Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum have to offer.
