Relish! – Forging local connections with food

St. Thomas, ON – Forging local connections with food – A new committee named Relish has formed in St. Thomas with a mandate to promote local food production in the region. The name Relish was chosen because it means to “derive a lot of enjoyment from something”. The first item we want you to enjoy is the Harvest.

The Relish committee branched away from FreshFest to focus their efforts on local agriculture and producers.  Ultimately, they will work to provide unique food events that centre around what is produced locally.

For their inaugural event, Relish Harvest, they are partnering with the STEAM Barista Competition to host a Harvest Dinner. This dinner will feature 4 local chefs, all sourcing food from surrounding farms, to highlight the bounty available in the region. The delicious meal will be accentuated with local beverage options from our wineries, breweries, and tea producers. The event is being appropriately held at the elevated park, or in the case of rain, the St. Thomas Elgin Public Art Centre. Let your eyes relish the sights as your taste buds relish the flavours, and your ears relish the sounds of Letters from Hawthorne.

Tickets are $50 which includes a 4-course meal served picnic style, with a welcome drink, and live music.  Tickets are limited and must be purchased ahead of time – don’t delay!
